Ingredients:

Method:

You will need a large cloth strainer or something appropriate to squeeze out the clear juice.

  • Add the pomegranate along with 1 cup of water, ginger, chillies and sugar to a strong blender.
  • Blend for about 10 seconds.
  • Check for sweetness and add more sugar if required.
  • Add the mint and lemon wedge now and blend once more for merely a few seconds.
  • Pour through the cloth strainer into a large pitcher. Squeeze to extract the clear juice to the maximum.
  • Add remaining water, 7-up and serve.
  • May be garnished with lemon wedge, mint leaves and a few reserved pomegranate seeds.

Notes: 
  • Due to varying flavor of the fruit, add sugar and water to taste.

    Ah, this is one awesome drink, I love the combination of flavours, especially the addition of the chillies!

    • Thanks Azlin! It was a super hit at one of my moms parties.. and everyone was going to the kitchen to find out what’s in it. the trick is to mix mild and hot chillies to balance it out, I think.
