Dancing Tea and Dancing Coffee are relatively newer innovations in how tea and coffee is served at restaurants.

Taking into account the law of liquid density, this drink is pure science. The lighter layer floats over the denser layer without mixing with each other.

This is a fun drink not only to behold, but to make as well! The two layers will keep swaying (dancing) without mixing into eachother, with every small movement of the cup/glass.

You need a spoon to finally stir it together and enjoy the hot beverage.

Now if you take your tea or coffee without sugar, I’m afraid you will have to pass, because sugar plays a key role in the altered density layer.

It is easier to get the layers more perfect if the bottom layer contains more sugar, but I have also managed several times to make the tea with 1 and 1/2 tsp sugar per 240 mls of tea, which is quite normal. So the tea does not have to be sickeningly sweet in order to see your tea dance, and drink it too!

Watch my Video Below to see how it’s done:) or click for the measurements recipe. I show how to make Dancing Tea, but the same method applies to make Dancing Coffee. Simple make black sweetened coffee in place of the sweet black tea.
