Enjoy the goodness of dates and almonds in a cool milkshake. This shake is popular during Ramadan when we have plenty of dates at home. However, it is a nice milkshake to offer your guests any time of the year!

Date Almond Milkshake

Difficulty: Beginner Prep Time 5 mins Cook Time 2 mins Total Time 7 mins
Servings: 2

Ingredients:

Instructions

  1. Soften the dates in warm water and drain.
  2. Blanch the almonds by adding to boiling water, turning off heat and leaving for 2 minutes; then peel easily.
  3. Add the dates, almond and a small amount of the milk to a blender. Blend till smooth.
  4. Strain, if you desire an extra smooth drink.
  5. Add the remaining milk and ice-cream and blend till frothy. Serve cold!

Note

  • A variation of this recipe can be made  using ready to use almond milk and 1 banana along with the dates.
  • You can also add baked cashew nuts or almonds chopped finely and add it to the shake if you like a ‘bite’ to it.
